    On March 17, 2010, BitcoinMarket.com, the first Bitcoin exchange, went live. At the time, Bitcoin was trading at USD 0.03 per BTC.

  • Birthday of Ross Ulbricht

    Ross Ulbricht was born in Austin, Texas, on March 27, 1984. In February 2011, the programmer founded the darknet marketplace Silk Road, which was the first major use case for Bitcoin as a means of payment. He is serving life imprisonment for creating and operating the darknet market website Silk Road from 2011 until his arrest in 2013.
